Qualifications

 

I’ve been an arts professional since 1980. As a visual artist, I’ve been 
involved in about 45 exhibitions in Brisbane, Melbourne and Tasmania. 
Have done curatorial work in commercial galleries, and instigated several 
artist run spaces… 
In the performing arts, I worked as a scenic artist, designer and production    
manager. For example, with Scenic Studios in Melbourne, I painted Phantom 
of the Opera, The King and I for New York, lots of shows for the Hong Kong 
Ballet and Australian Ballet and more…No formal qualifications…

Modus operandi

 

Large scale, abstract paintings based on Baroque and Renaissance form 
and technique. Worked in optical layers to evoke an emotional response.
I see myself more as a tradesperson who loves his work and so must paint 
and draw every day.
