Modus Operandi

My art is influenced by my profession where I work with people who have
experienced severe trauma. Lee Karsner expressed perfectly how I feel
about my work so I will borrow her words. She said “I consider that the
whole body of my work is concerned with the realization of a totality of
being, with the fusion of inner and outer reality, and in that sense, it is,
of course, involved with the spiritual”.

I approach my work intuitively, seeking to express a representation and
engagement with feeling that teases the viewer to move back and forth
between their own experience and the images given. In this way I hope
that the cult of ‘otherness’ is dismissed and we join through the work,
each contributing equally to its meaning.
