Janet Hayes writes about the book in The Australian Art
Review July 07 Marshall distils the accumulation of her creative
experiences into a series of discrete essays underpinned by
personal narrative which forms the structure of her book.
She lays bare her struggle to create with energy,
sincerity and generosity.
"Red Sky Night"
120 x 90cm
acrylic on canvas.
These are inner landscapes which attempt to capture and explore
the beauty and design that is intrinsic in nature but also left in
the objects we place there. They depict places of mystery which
show natures details through many perspectives.
"Blue Sky Morning"
122 x 122 cm
acrylic on canvas.
An interest in Asian art has developed the artists philosophy
that an artwork can trap positive energy to connect to the
viewer to invoke emotive response and also promote a
sense of calm contemplation and well being.
"Waiting for Rain"
110 x 100 cm
acrylic on canvas.
Lyne has always been closely connected to the land and as a
child lived on an island off the Queensland coast. She lives
now in relative isolation on a mountain range, with the bush
as a backdrop. The view from her home verandah spans
across the valley to the horizon beyond and after 20 yrs its
changing perspective is now reflected in her work.
"Earth Matters 3"
