Mandy
Beaumont is a Brisbane based Poet. She has work published in
magazines,
journals and newspapers, on the net, in public spaces and
in
books. She has won numerous awards for her poetry. Mandy was the
first
poet to become a recipient of the Youth Arts Queensland Mentoring
Program
and performs regularly at spoken word events around Australia.
By
day, Mandy works as a Trade Unionist and by the moonlight she writes
furiously
on her balcony with cheap cask wine and rolled cigarettes.
Mandy's
first collection of poetry "The Regular Correspondence of a Love
Affair
With Words" was launched on Saturday the 9th October 2004 at the
Queensland

likes simple things, strangers who smile at her, words that move her
and
dancing the night away in seedy bars.Mandy
is also an active member
