I regard myself as self taught as soon as I could pick up a pen as a child I started drawing and would do so at every opportunity. On the academic front, I studied art to A-Level (UK) and Advertising: Design & Illustration at Diploma level (UK). I started painting at 16 years old after child and teen years of drawing. I have developed my own painting style over the last 14 years. No one has ever taught me to paint, however, a lot of people have given me excellent guidance I believe that drawing skills must be constantly practiced and an artist can never do too much drawing or observing. |

At school I started painting to the influence of Hopper and artists of similar styles. I very much enjoy paint slabs for realism. I moved this style into my commercial work that I produced using marker pens for ad agencies in London. As far as abstract work goes, it really has to stem from a visual scene Ive recently experienced or some other experience that impacts on me. |
