A..	No not as yet.
Q..	What's the point? Why bother?
A..	As of August 2006 and continuing into 2009, the Brisbane Artists Directory is visited every month from approximately 52 countries; an established international and local audience. The Directory has always promoted direct contact with local artists. Clearly the database remains a virtual testament to a wide spectrum of the cities artistic community and networks therein.
Q..	Does the directory receive any funding?
A..	No.
Q..	Who is paying for the cost involved in keeping the site running?
A..	All server space is offset by other non related projects.
Q..	Are there any hidden costs to the participants?
A..	No, this is a completely free service.
Q..	What's the catch ?
A..	Put quite simply, there is no catch. We have no interest in profiting from participating artists. It is what it is on the day, nothing more or less. If there was a cost involved, would it be more worthwhile and more representational of you? The database has developed a consistent worldwide audience and is more representational of a loose online community portal.
Q..	Are there any obligations for the artists who provide a profile ?
A..	No, there are no formal obligations or affiliations. As artists we recognize and encourage artists to profile on as many websites as possible.
Q..	Can I post more than 200k ?
A..	Yes...
Q..	Why are you doing this ? What were your motivations ?
A..	The how, what, where and whys have evolved since the sites inception from being a project of sorts in web design and management, to the present, where we've seen a niche audience utilising the database.
Q..	Do I have to live in Brisbane to be involved ?
A..	Technically no.
Q..	How do you cover copyright issues ?
A..	Apart from having the obvious disclosures in place, there is no real way we can stop people from right clicking, that's why we keep images at a low resolution. We also have access to detailed stats that let us now if images have been linked to. On the odd occasion this has happened we've contacted those concerned and they've removed any links very promptly.
Q..	Can I update my pages ?
A..	Yes,in fact we encourage artists to update their galleries and profiles at least once a year. If you have something you'd like to post at any other time just mail it in and we'll upload it.
Q..	Does the directory have any political agendas ?
A..	No, the directory is simply an independent online arts resource which endeavors to allow the artists and their art a neutral platform from which to profile themselves and their work.
Q..	Are you intending to sell the website ?
A..	We understand the concerns this may raise for some but clearly the motivation for the running and maintenance of the site is not for profit.
Q..	Is this a credible resource ?
A..	This resource is as credible as the information and links posted. In the main the artists index is representative of a great cross section of contemporary local Brisbane artists. Some artists are more popular than others. This is not abnormal. The site was initiated as an independent online arts hub. The site continues to attract over 6,000 visitors from over 52 countries every month. The database operates as a portal to many local art related websites.
